MOMS Offering Moms Support

Our Chapter

Who, What, Where & When...
Our chapter includes moms (and dads) from either Morganville or Marlboro, New Jersey. We are located in Central New Jersey in scenic Monmouth County. We have beautiful parks, beaches and recreation areas. There is always so much to do no matter what season. This chapter was founded in 1997 by local moms who needed support during the day.
Who's In Charge?
Our chapter is lead by our Executive Board, which includes our President, Vice President, Membership Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Positions are held from (July-June) and are chosen by membership wide voting yearly at our June meeting. All members are welcomed and encouraged to run for board member positions. Our executive board meets on a monthly basis to deal with club business and discuss plans for the future.

How Else Can I Participate?
We also have many different committees made up of club members and led by a volunteer ChairMOM. Some committees that exist in our club are: Playgroup, Newsletter, Sunshine, Activities, Arts & Crafts, and Membership. Our specialize committees include: The Resource Table, Book Club, Coffee Group, Cookbook & Website.

One important thing to remember about the club is that it is
completely member-driven. No one is paid to be here and run the club. So, the more participation we get from our members the better the club is. We welcome all suggestions and ideas for activities, community service, fund raisers, etc. Everything is on a volunteer basis - you are not required to participate in committees or hold a board position. However, we are a member-driven organization, so without the participation of the members, the club cannot exist.

MOMS Club® History...
We are one of the chapters of the International MOMS Club®, a non-profit, non-denominational organization for at-home mothers around the world. MOMS stands for MOMS Offering Moms Support. The MOMS Club® was started in 1983 by Mary James in Simi Valley, California. She wanted to meet at-home mothers like herself but couldn't find any organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her children. She decided to start her own organization for at-home mothers and the MOMS Club® was born. This chapter was so successful that she and some volunteers helped other mothers start MOMS Club® chapters in their own areas. It became a national organization in 1985 and now there are over 2,000 chapters across the country, several international chapters and membership exceeds 100,000 with new members joining and new chapters forming every day.
